BRIEF SUMMARY

The San Antonio Comprehensive Plan builds on the SA2020 vision.  The plan is a roadmap for the futre development of San Antonio and sets goals and policies.

ISSUE

The plan as drafted would supersede Neighborhood Conservation Districts, despite assurances by leaders of San Antonio, including Mayor Taylor that it would not.  Neighborhood Conservation Districts were developed by the people that live in the respective neighborhoods along with the City of San Antonio, and reflect the vision, goals and intentions for their neighborhood. By developing a super plan that would supersede those neighborhood plans, it appears that the city in colluding with developers to do away with the neighborhood plans allowing builders to ignore the character, history and style of the neighborhoods.

STATUS
The plan was modified slightly and is now final.  It is merely a framework so the threat to the Neighborhood Conservation Districts continues.  The Tier One coalition was formed primarily in response to this threat, in addition to others.
